Kenya Missions Update

Today I had my heart tickled. I went to Chepkusom, which is a church about two years old. We had four maize experiments there, with three different varieties of maize. At the third experiment, it is the house of a 91 or 92 years old man (he couldn’t remember which). He was telling me that in the experiment there were no weeds, that he is still strong and went and weeded himself. When we finished, we were going to the last place and then I was going to give a summery of the experiments. He wanted to go, as he was sure that his maize (Kenya Seed variety 628) was the best. You could see the spirit of competition in those old eyes. As we got in the vehicle, they let him in the front and someone said something to him about riding in the front seat. He snapped back that he had ridden in cars before! Well his variety was about the same as Kenya Seed variety 629.

After teaching about the maize experiment, we drank a cup of tea at 4 PM (this was lunch for the day). I encouraged them from Psalms 147 how all of creation was created to Praise the Lord and we should as well as we serve King, Jesus. As we were finishing, the chief of the area came in and had a cup of tea with us. I talked to him about what we did for the day. Come to find out he has now joined our church. Also he has a daughter studying in her third year university in Connecticut. He said that I should plan a day when I can come to visit him at his home!

Thanks for your loving support in prayers as we minister here. We, yes, Grace also had work today as well, she left shortly after me at 10 AM and got home about 3 minutes after me at 5:35 PM. Pray a prayer for Mary who helps us, as she had the girls all day, she loves them and they love her.
