Kenya Missions Update

8 March, 2004

Greetings in the name of the Lord, Jesus the Christ!

March 6 - WE arrived at Kaimosi at 11:30 AM. Set up the tent for us to sleep in for the night. Wait for the leaders and elders to arrive for a meeting. People come finally and we start with lunch at 3 PM. Around 5 PM they say we brought blessings, as it started to rain and even some hail. A lot of wind. the wheelbarrow and bricks helped the tent from blowing away. No supper as several of us were fasting for special prayers on Sunday. Finally at 10:30 PM the meeting closes and we go to sleep. Not in the tent as it was very wet inside. But rather on Paul and Jane Bwire's floor. Kirsten and Ruth were very disappointed.

March 7 - Keith's Birthday. Two special gifts this day.
#1 before church, we went to the river and 9 people were baptized into Christ!
#2 they said that I could preach for as long as I wanted. Don't make that mistake when I come to your church, I spoke for 1 1/2 hours. I had a lot to say. These are people that I love and have invested my life in ( some since 1990) and will not see them again until 2005.

After church we had special prayers for two families. Finally arrived home at 8:30 PM. Now it is 6:30 AM on Monday. I will leave again in 3 hours for the annual Men's missionary meeting. A time when missionaries in East Africa come together for fellowship and business. I will come home on Thursday morning. I hear that someone is coming from America to be our special speaker this year.

I will send out our last newsletter next week about furlough, a lot to be done before we go, please keep us in your prayers. Pray for organization and just plain time to get it all done.

We love you all.

Thanks for your love and prayers.

In Service to Christ,
Keith & Grace Gafner
