Kenya Missions UpdateMarch 23, 2005Greetings in the Precious name of Jesus! I have delayed in saying thank your for your prayers of last weekend. Here is a report of that trip. First, the Lord heard your prayers and Grace and the girls had a safe time at home. Friday night was very different for Grace, as the girls slept at a friend’s house and I was gone. She is not ready to do that anytime soon again! Sammy and I arrived there okay on Thursday and I taught in the afternoon. Friday was a bit different. First came the report that George brought from his village that a Coke truck lost its brakes and hit several cars and people along the road, killing some and injuring many. Then Erik Guilds had finished teaching and was about to head for home and locked his keys in the car. He finally got it opened and left after lunch. As for me, my glasses came unscrewed. So a brother was able to get them fixed for me. We started the day with prayer and praise; we needed the Lord to help us through the day. Thanks also for your prayers along with ours. I taught then the rest of the day on Friday and Saturday. Saturday night, we had a time of preaching and worship. It was wonderful, at the end; we all fell to our knees and prayed. Sunday was also wonderful time worship. Sammy, who went with me, preached a powerful sermon and several came forward for prayers. We left after church and stopped to buy food for the family. In Kisii we had bought avocados and cooking and eating bananas. On the trip home we bought pineapples and sweet potatoes. We went into the darkest rain cloud that I think I have ever seen. And drove though some terrible rain. At one point, the ground (which is flat at that place) was like a shallow lake; the whole area was under water! We had a flat tire on the way home as well, but in an area of no rain. Kisii is 120 miles from Eldoret; the trip home took us 4 hours. Tired we were, but glad to be home. Thanks for your prayers!
