Greetings in the name of Jesus!

I just wanted to send you a short update on the happenings of the last couple of days. Keep Praying! Your prayers are being heard!

  1. President Kibaki and Prime Minister Odinga have agreed on the size of the cabinet. A much bloated 40 Ministers. They will name the cabinet tomorrow. And then have the swearing in next Saturday at a big ceremony in the park in Nairobi. Praise the Lord!
  2. The meeting went well yesterday. We went with 7 Kikuyu leaders. The Moiben and Mafuta farm was well represented by the Kalenjin community. The Rye farm was not. The Senior Chief and DO (District Officer) and OCS (the highest ranking policeman) were all present and very supportive. Things went very well. Two major things need to be prayed for: A. Monday, will be more meetings of selected elders of both communities. The Moiben farm people and the Mafuta farm people will meet on their own. The Rye farm will have Tom Owuor and the Senior Chief go and try to see what they are thinking and encourage them in the process. Myself, I have other commitments and will not be able to attend. B. On Tuesday, the DO and the Senior Chief will go to the IDP camp and meet with the Kikuyu community. Their aim is to meet the people, reassure them and find out what the needs are for people to come home. Needs like farm inputs needed and what they need for rebuilding their homes. Praise the Lord!
  3. The BAD news now. I reported in the last prayer letter that inflation was at 19% for February. The latest report is for March it was at 20.8%. Pray for our economy to recover quickly. Before the clashes, it was down in single digits.

Thanks for your prayers!
In Service to the Christ,
Keith for the Gafner Family
